Marea Art Project APS joins the 19th Contemporary Art Day, an event promoted by AMACI Musei with the support of the Direzione Generale creatività contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura, and with the collaboration of the Direzione Generale per la Diplomazia Pubblica e Culturale del Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, which has been bringing contemporary art to the general public since 2005.
Saturday 7 October, in collaboration with the LeWitt Collection, Marea will open the doors of Casa L'Orto in Praiano to accompany guests on a guided tour of the house, of the Wall Drawings kept inside and of the ancient terraces and organic gardens that surround the area.
Built in 1700 by the ancestors of Carol LeWitt, patron, and wife of the American artist Sol LeWitt, the house is located in Praiano near Torre a Mare, an ancient Spanish watchtower. The beauty and sense of peace that can be felt within its walls and the generosity of the surrounding vegetation immediately conquered the artist when he began to frequent the town of Praiano around the mid-1970s. Among the LeWitt properties, Casa L'Orto is the only one to present works by the artist inside.
Furthermore, during the day, the Marea Art Project will illustrate the work of artists involved during the artistic residencies and the artworks created during the first two years of activity.
